Hi Derrik,

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading your blogs and would’ve loved to have heard you speak and meet you in person at the upcoming Sydney BSLG Group meeting in November, however I will be in QLD on that date. I wanted to share a couple of life ”mottos” that always get me through challenging times or tasks:
1. In life you have two choices – to be a victim or to volunteer.
2. Learn to want for nothing.
3. Failure is just a learning curve.
4. Is this who you choose to be?

These sayings help me to dig a little deeper, accept a little easier, forgive a little quicker, love a whole lot more and remind me that not only are we merely human, we already have everything we need inside oursleves.

Thank you for sharing your experiences and wisdom.

Derrick’s attendance and presentation at our leadership conference in country SA was amazing. From the moment he opened his session with his personal experience he had us all fully engaged. Not only were the sessions so empowering, he delivered the content with humour, compassion and total respect for individuals. The feedback we received from our staff was that Derrick’s motivation and self belief is infectious and life-changing. The way Derrick tailored the sessions specific to ANZ’s strategy was a credit to his creative and spontaneous skills as a presentor. Thank you Derrick for your honesty and your ability to adapt. You are a true inspiration to us all.

Sensational first blog Derrick !!!!

I certainly get what you mean. There have been times when I haven’t tried things due to fear of faliure…and not looking perfect. Which is sometimes a frustration to my wonderful partner…but it’s something that I’m working on.

I look forward to reading your future posts. Maybe you can inspire me to ‘lighten up’ on myself ???
